Mozambique School Lunch Initiative

The Mozambique School Lunch Initiative is a non-profit organization that delivers nutritious school lunches to children in rural primary schools in Mozambique, reducing childhood malnutrition and increasing school participation. By fortifying the school lunches with iron and vitamin A, and including annual deworming, we ensure that children are able to make the most of the school meals and thereby increase the impact of every dollar spent. Furthermore, by procuring food products from the local community, our school lunch program also stimulates local agricultural investment and production. In these ways, the Mozambique School Lunch Initiative promotes increased human capital accumulation and local agricultural market integration.
